Ashley HomeStore Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. is an American home furnishings manufacturer and retailer, headquartered in Arcadia, Wisconsin. The company is owned by father and son team Ron and Todd Wanek. Ashley Furniture manufactures and distributes home furniture products throughout the world.

Kelsey of Chicago, IL mentioned "Honestly very disappointed in the way Ashley Homestore handled our order. We purchased an (expensive) couch that was going to be delivered early July. Two weeks before the original delivery date, we were notified that the order was going to be delayed by 2 weeks. We had planned our entire move around the delivery date of the couch and then had to rent another truck for when it would be here. The customer service representative then told us that it would be $500 to deliver to our city, and then told us an hour later that they in fact "wouldn't be able to deliver it" to our city at all, even though there is an Ashley Homestore two blocks from our residence."

"1. Takes way too long to get furniture in stock for customers. No one is waiting 10-12 weeks when they can go elsewhere and get product in 1/3 the time. 2. Management is terrible. They lie to customers, make you lie to customers and treat you awful. 3. Not clean. Dusty and not up to Covid-19 standards. Allow people in without masks."

Current Employee - Retail Sales Associate says

"Pay structure is garbage and it was changed to more garbage during a pandemic Work life balance You are disposable You are a dollar sign High pressure People will take your customers No transparency Will try to stay open no matter what (COVID) Profit over people 3 personal days and no vacation until after the first year Delivery messes up most every order, you get paid on delivered items that you have no control over getting delivered. Worst place I’ve worked."

"Don’t let you enjoy what you do. They suck. People talk about each other and they were two faced. Fire you if you was sick at work and they worked you like a dog. What I did for workHow they treat you"

Delivery Driver/Warehouse (Former Employee) says

"Horrible company and horrible "family" that runs it. Hopefully eventually they close up shop and leave this area. They also run Bloomington and Peoria."

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"The company is racist. Treat their employees like slaves. They do not pay 11-14 per hr. Commission based only and you don’t get your commission until furniture is delivered which can take months. Horrible place to work for with no consistency of any sort. Worst job experience ever. Love the customersEverything"

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"You are not paid enough for the amount of work they want you to do in this company. Not to mention you basically work all day from open to close which is horrible. If you are looking for a job where you can grow in the company this isn't the job for you. In addition the management team is not welcoming; they also let their personal life affect their work ethic which is very unprofessional. Overall working for this company was one of the worst experiences I've had. Work from open to close"

Lead Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"In a nut shell, it was a bad experience but I applied myself and can take that experience elsewhere. I made my sales, met great customers, and some co workers.None!Company is only looking to survive, and the includes the store level."

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"I worked for only 2 months, But, managers are not so supportive, They are expecting with me a lot, I don't do any mistake or my work should be perfect, I am a human being I am allowed to do a mistake, and it is just 2 months,"

Sales Associate/ Design consultant (Former Employee) says

"Poor management and work environment . I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless they like $10 an hour and always being micromanaged. I wish it was a better place because I was excited to work there until I actually did."

Lead Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Broke knee, and was terminated from my position after doctor released me to return to work. Due to their decision, I was given unemployment benefits..Be a self learner, apply yourself, and find another company with better supportEverybody is out for themselves"

Design Consultant (Former Employee) says

"general manager was registered SO. That wouldn't be too much on a problem on its own but a coworker I was familiar with was reported by 2 different girls working there that he was sending them weird pics, talking creepy and even trying to kiss one of them after the store closed for the day. Both times its was reported nothing ever happened i assume because the manager can relate with this employee. (They r always together) not only that but one the girls was fired almost immediately after. Poor poor management terrible pay. Corporate messes up all the time and expects u to take the flack for it. (Example intentionally wrong or mistyped promotions so people come in. Then we have to tell them it was actually a typo. The owner is an absolute dufus who strolls in the door in a 2 thousand dollar suit and a rolex and talks terrible to everyone. People who have made big checks are fired and kept from making all their money. Its a scam all of it I wouldn't reccomend to my worst enemy. Terrible place. Managers have relationships with workers, pick favorites, its a mess. Ceo's wife calls you every other day complaining cause u didn't clock out correctly. We aren't even paid hourly we are paid commission. The hours are also insane borderline slavery i made some friendseverything else"

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Too many sales people and not enough customers. Since commission is based on deliveries, you cannot get enough sales delivered in the same week to get any commission. Most days you only get 1 or 2 customers and hope they are actually going to buy."

Sales Representative (Current Employee) says

"Worst management ever! No women managers at any of their stores! Delivery & Customer service is horrible and effects your sales! Terrible place to work! Commission scedule is designed to keep you from making any money.Family owned Business that only cares about family."

Office Clerk (Former Employee) says

"When started working everything fine but about 2 weeks in started realizing the management doesn’t care about employees.Watch management talk to employees like kids one of the worst jobs I worked and pay was horrible. Was actually happy again when I left that place."

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"I'll be honest, when I first was interviewed for the job there were multiple people who told me not to take it. However, I decided to go ahead and take the job because I wanted to give them a fair shot and not listen to other peoples opinions. Unfortunately I was very wrong in doing so, they were so disrespectful. The company was so poorly managed. I went from getting no days off a week, to at least getting one so that was nice. I have never met so many people with no common sense in my life. The "corporate office" that just wants whats "best" for your were full of liars . I would never recommend this job to anyone. they have you work on your lunch breaks, they didn't pay us during the quarantine like we were told we would be. They don't give you your break like they are supposed to. now if your not from the corporate office then you'll just have to live like tat. The corporate office is the only one they worry about so you'll have to get used to that. It'll never change. The pay you get is not worth it for the amount of things you have to put up with. If you're looking for a reason to take this job or not. Here's your Reason NOT to.couldn't think of anythe job within itself"

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Managers are rarely there to help you and if you opt out of the mentor program they just wait for you to fail. During the corona pandemic and the riots I had anxiety attacks and was let go because of that. And it was doctor excused. Now I’ve lost my benefits, so no more anxiety care, nor a job. It’s sad that a company would make you sell sell sell, and your getting paid minimum wage. And the items are all back stocked causing buyers to be less motivated to buy. people want to"

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Don’t even shop there everyone there is a massive liar. They will so what ever it takes to make a sale or steal one from a client. They sell junk from over seasNoneEverything"

Data Entry (Former Employee) says

"This company is a JOKE! Terrible work environment, horrible management, horrible training. This company lies to customers and the managers refuse to speak to angry customers. Beware, this is not where you want to work.NoneEverything."

Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"Without speaking up more people will think this is a good job but in my opinion and experience it is not. Definitely more of an entry level job. They say it is supposed to be a professional atmosphere but it is more like being back in high school. Everyone acts like a shark, cannot trust the people you work with. There is also no financial stability working here. A place where the manager sits in their office and accomplishes nothing while the whole team feels overworked. We were told to go make more money for the store disregarding our own quota which if you do not meet you will lose your job. I am a passionate person but I lost my motivation wasting my time here. They can keep their money, my dignity and security is much more worthy in value to me."

Customer Care Representative (Former Employee) says

"The only people Ashley furniture treats worse than their customers are their employees. Management doesnt care also there are way too many managers that work here and do not actually do any work. Also this company is incredibly shady with scheduling and pay employees beware!"
